Eye of the North titles disappointing?
I looked forward to the release of Eye of the North and expected to get new titles to further build on my "Kind of a Big Deal" title track. As soon as I heard about the Hall of Monuments and the importance of titles for it I started working on my Protector and Skill hunter titles. Together with the Cartographers which I already maxed I reached 13 maxed titles and "People Know me". I planned on getting two more maxed titles in Eye of the North to get rank 3 in KoaBD: Eye of the North cartography and Eye of the North mission completion.
But soon I noticed there is no "Protector of the North" title to get, neither there is a "Eye of the North grandmaster cartographer" title. I completed all primary quests, all 'missions', all dungeons, I completed the Heroes Handbook and Master Dungeon guide, but I don't even get one maxed title for it. (Not even a maxed Master of the North title)
Then we have the new "grind" titles. Let me first say that I have no problems with grinding. Grinding to a certain degree is part of many RPG games. I don't want this to become the n-th grind whining thread. But these grind titles seem to be extremely hard to max. Way harder than the Nightfall Sunspear and Lightbringer titles which can be maxed both in the same time by wurm farming under the blessing. Grinding is ok, but endless grinding starts to be annoying and boring.
So my dream of reaching "I'm very important" is starting to crumble. I don't really like hard mode, so I hoped that Eye of the North would be my way to get the 2 more maxed titles I need.
I would love to see a change to the Eye of the North titles so they would be reasonably reachable. I also would like to see your opinions about the new titles. Feel free to post here and let know what you think about them.

There's a certain Asuran quest (at the end of all the cipher dragon quests or w.e) where you battle them all together. I'm pretty sure you can clear out varajar, or until you get 100~ kills, and then kill all 6 dragons to get like 1200 points really easily. THen drop the quest and then do it over again. (This is for Norn Points)
For Dwarf points, you can just do lair of the snowmen
We currently can't max any of the EOTN titles, but we do get a title for exploration/primary quests/dungeons in EOTN. Its called "master of the eye" or whatever. Just hold on tight and we'll be able to max that soon too. (Although I'm afraid the other portion of this title may be from HM)

In my opinion...ANet wanted to give players something to do before GW2...something that couldnt be completed in a week. Hence the massive grind titles.
The cartographer/protector titles have been merged into one title. Master Of The North. Yes, ANet have probably robbed you of a title, but the normal rules don't apply with EotN...it's an expansion, not a campaign. (for example, no prot title because there are no 'missions' in the normal sense of the word...no cart title because we're not exploring a new map, we're expanding an existing map)
Just be patient. If you could max out a few titles, easy as that, KoaBD wouldnt be worth having. You'll get there eventually

^ I agree with Argon. And I'm pretty sure the even plan on adding new content (Sorrow's Furnace? ^^). We got a good 2 years to get our titles. Don't expect them all completed 1 month after its released.

Yeah, I learned about this ... just when I finished the quest. I already posted a thread about this in Sardelac Sanitarium.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing quite a bit already. But what comes after 80 000 points is unclear. At least the normal mode blessing is no longer given. Although there was in game update notices a message about a new blessing. We'll have to see.

They probably mixed Cartographer and Protector to make sure 5 new titles are available, which is a great number considering that all KoaBD titles are increments of five, and not including Survivor and LDoA I believe there's a total of 30 titles.

I got to Rank 8 Dwarfy earlier... and it only gives you what it says, which is the Great Dwarf Blessing... The +20 Armor for 60 seconds.. and that's EVERY 25 kills. I completed the snowman dungeon 4 times just to make sure there was no other bonuses.

The weekend evend did it for me. I've turned in my Heroes Handbook/Master Dungeon Guide for the new better reward points and I've been grinding like a madman and was able to max both the Deldrimor as the Vanguard title tracks. The double points gave me as player the 'morale boost' I needed to push through the quite boring work I needed to do to get r3 of KoaBD.
So, thanks for the double points weekend, it was just what I needed.
I'll forget about the Master of the North title since it requires so much more to max it.

I am frankly disappointed in the Master of the North track. It is possible to max it without having set foot in Slavers' Exile. This should not be the case.

I think it's good, not everyone is one of the holy trinity that can go into elite areas like that (if you try to PuG anyways). For me, it means I don't have to touch Shards of Orr HM, or if I manage to do that I can not vanquish 2 zones. The only quest I have is if you can get the mastery points and credit in your dungeon book for Slaver's HM by just doing Duncan in HM, or if you have to do the previous 4 areas in HM as well.

Yea I am a bit disappointed that there is no max title for completion of Eotn. All the title required massive amount of grinding. And Yes the last 2 ranks has to be done in HM so trying to solo them won't be easy.
Master of the North title is very hard to get as well. It is a combination of missions, quests, dungeons and mapping in Normal and Hard mode.

Guild Wars still isn't about grinding. People forget that you really do not need to grind at all in Guild Wars. Compare this with other MMOs where you have to grind just to progress in the game.
Grinding only exists in GW if you want it to. If you don't wanna grind, then don't do it. You can still play the game just as well as the next guy whether you do it or not.

Damn so that's why people want to know what RANK you are to PvP, DoA, "or ping me your skills" (cause you have to have them all)...etc etc etc

I'm confused. Since when was having a good skill bar considered grind? Also, the rank issue's been there since the Hero title was around.
Oh right, that started at the beginning.
